    Course details

    This course is a specific preparation for the TestDaF examination which is a certification test for university applicants in order to proof the necessary language competence for studying in Germany. With the help of extensive exercises the course participants intensify and improve their linguistic knowledge and knowhow, they will become familiar with the examination features and learn strategies for successfully dealing with this particular type of testing.
    Where can I take the TestDaF Exam?
    Unlike the DSH exam which is offered only twice a year you will have the opportunity at did deutsch-institut to take the Test- DaF exam on six different occasions every year. This way you can take the test for the Documentation of a Sufficient Knowledge of German Language at a location you are familiar with: German language course, TestDaF preparation course and Test- DaF exam – everything you can find here at our institutes! The TestDaF course usually starts 4 to 8 weeks prior to a TestDaF event. In the case that your course level might not be finished, you can take the TestDaF course parallel to the Standard Course in the afternoons – the course concepts are complementary to one another.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    There are two types of accommodation you can choose:

    1. Homestay
    If you want to fully immerse yourself in English culture then you may enjoy homestay accommodation. You will live with a local family with breakfast and an evening meal included. On Sundays, lunch will also be included.

    Homestay hosts may be older people whose children have left home, they may be a full family with children, they may be a younger couple or single people: the school has over 200 hosts in the city, so the school will always try to place you in a suitable home.

    The homestay department spend a lot of time and care finding the host families and the homestay co-ordinator is in school every day in case you have any questions or difficulties. The school listens to your preferences (some people don’t want to live with pets, for example) and the school can also cater for special diets, e.g. vegetarian or halal.

    Most of the homestays are situated in the suburbs and are 20-40 minutes from the city centre by public transport [bus or train]. The school has no homestays in the city centre. All families have been visited by the school and had a security check.
