Living in a homestay has many advantages. Most importantly, you have the chance to practice English throughout your stay, and to make friends with English people.
The school chooses the homestays very carefully, both for the facilities they have to offer and, more especially, their abilities to give you the warmth and welcome of a “home from home”.
Your homestay will treat you as a full member of the household, eating together and sharing the common living areas. You are provided with a single room, or shared room if required, a quiet place for study, breakfast and evening meals during the week and full board (all meals) at the weekends.
It is important to know whether you like young children or pets, smoke, have any allergies or a medical condition, or require a special diet.
As the school is situated in a residential area, most homestays are within easy walking distance. During busy periods, some of the accommodation may be further away.
Please remember, you choose the type of accommodation you want. If you prefer to be the only student, or to have the companionship of other students, this can usually be arranged.
There will be no other students of the same mother-tongue as you.
Shared room is available only for friends, married couples etc.
Superior homestay is available at a higher cost, in a single room, either en-suite or with private access to a bathroom. The accommodation is situated within easy walking distance of the school. Meals include breakfast and main meal every day, with a further light meal on Saturday and Sunday. There is free use of internet facilities.
