    Taking flamenco classes in Spain is an ideal way to compliment your Spanish course. Flamenco is an internationally recognized art form that was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010.

     

    The flamenco course in Spain will introduce students to the song, dance and music that make up this artistic expression. Discover the passion and wide range of emotions that are expressed by the performer through complex techniques of foot stomping and hand clapping.

    Course details

    This course combines the Intensive course and Flamenco Dance.

     

     

    While you are learning and perfecting the language in your Spanish classes during the morning, you also have the opportunity to learn and develop the techniques of flamenco dance with a teacher, who specialises in these famous dances from the south of Spain.

     

    The flamenco course is taught at an academy by professional flamenco dance teachers who will adapt to your dance level whether you have studied flamenco in the past or not. The content is flexible and can be adapted to students’ schedules and language level.

     

    Practical Information

     

    Lessons per week: 20lessons of Spanish + 6 Flamenco Dance lessons

    Duration: from 1 to 12 weeks

    Maximum students per class: 12 students

    Composition of the course: 10 lessons Grammar and Vocabulary; 10 lessons Development of Language Skills and Communication.

    Accommodation

    Most students select host family and we highly recommend this choice. However, for those students who wish to be more independent we can highly recommend the Private Apartments or the Shared Apartments.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    There are two types of accommodation you can choose:

    1. Homestay
    If you want to fully immerse yourself in English culture then you may enjoy homestay accommodation. You will live with a local family with breakfast and an evening meal included. On Sundays, lunch will also be included.

    Homestay hosts may be older people whose children have left home, they may be a full family with children, they may be a younger couple or single people: the school has over 200 hosts in the city, so the school will always try to place you in a suitable home.

    The homestay department spend a lot of time and care finding the host families and the homestay co-ordinator is in school every day in case you have any questions or difficulties. The school listens to your preferences (some people don’t want to live with pets, for example) and the school can also cater for special diets, e.g. vegetarian or halal.

    Most of the homestays are situated in the suburbs and are 20-40 minutes from the city centre by public transport [bus or train]. The school has no homestays in the city centre. All families have been visited by the school and had a security check.
