    St. Clare’s, Oxford is unique. They offer students from all over the world the opportunity to pursue a first class education in Oxford. St. Clare’s, Oxford was founded in 1953 with a mission to advance international education and understanding and they have been doing so successfully ever since.

    St. Clare’s is just 20 minutes’ walk from the centre of Oxford, and the world famous university colleges, museums and art galleries. There are also cinemas, theatres, restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs and clubs nearby, to enjoy in your free time.

    Course details

    Age: 17+ (18+ in summer)

    Level: from elementary to advanced

    Length: 2 weeks to 12 months+

    Class size: maximum 12 students

    Lessons: 21 per week (note: lesson = 55 minutes)

    This course is for you if you want to build your grammar and vocabulary and improve your general English Language skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking in small groups.

    The benefits to you:

    • better pronunciation and greater fluency in speaking

    Classes in the mornings focus on developing greater accuracy and greater fluency in the use of English. Lessons incorporate the four skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking – as well as the building-blocks of the language – grammar and vocabulary.

    Classes in the afternoons are based on student choice. A wide range of options is available each week and popular examples include:

    • Speaking, Listening and Pronunciation
    • Grammar, Vocabulary and Collocation
    • English ‘out and about’ in Oxford
    • English for Business and Work
    • Popular Music and Film

    Accommodation

    Some students prefer to live in a private home with one of the homestay hosts – it is often the best way to learn about life in Oxford. You can choose either a single standard or a single superior (with ensuite bathroom).

    • a single room with your own private space in a private home
    • an opportunity to practise your language skills in everyday social situations and interact with local people as you travel to and from college every day
