    Located in an attractive university town, close to the beach – visitors and students from all over the world create a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Bournemouth offers a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and night clubs. The town centre is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is a short walking distance from the amazing Bournemouth Beach; one of England’s cleanest and most popular sandy beaches.

    Bournemouth is within easy reach of many historic and cultural sites and only two hours from London. It is the ideal location to explore the south coast and visit London.

    The school itself is a historic building, combining the traditional character of former times with bright, modern classrooms and free Wi-Fi for all students. The heart of the school is the Bistro, which is a fabulous place for you to catch up with new friends from around the world, practice your English and of course enjoy drinks, meals and snacks. The open kitchen provides international cuisine and a wide variety of healthy and nutritious meals. Coffee and tea are included in the school.

    Only 10 minutes’ stroll from the town centre, the school is the ideal place to learn and to meet other students from all over the world.

    General English Courses

    This course covers speaking, listening, reading and writing, and the teachers are encouraged to tailor their classes to the students’ needs. You will study in the mornings and/or afternoons depending on the chosen number of lessons and the period of the year.

    Key facts:

    • Lessons: 20 or 25 lessons per week
    • Lessons duration: 45 mins
    • Duration: minimum 1 week

    The following levels are catered for:

    • elementary (A1)
    • lower intermediate (A2)
    • intermediate (B1)
    • upper intermediate (B2)
    • advanced (C1)

    Accommodation

    There are two types of accommodation you can choose:

     

    1. Homestay

    You can stay in single or twin rooms with one of the friendly homestay hosts, most of whom have been welcoming students for many years. Some live close to the school, while others are a short walk or a bus-ride (average 30 minutes, max. 45 minutes) away. This option consists of half board accommodation in a private home with breakfast and dinner. On weekends/bank holidays you will also be provided with a packed lunch.
    During summer, warm lunch in the school Bistro (Monday to Friday/Sunday) can be booked at additional costs – either pre-booked as weekly lunch package (approx. £28/£39week) or purchased daily (approx. £6/meal).

     

    2. Student residence

    You can also stay in a single en-suite bedroom in the student residence in the centre of Bournemouth. Live and socialize with your fellow students from many different countries! Cranborne House offers self-contained flats of 5-6 single study-bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private toilet, washbasin and shower and there is a common room (including a kitchen – not equipped) in each flat. Public launderettes with coin-operated washing/drying machines as well as public phone boxes are situated in or close to the residence. A safe is not provided, but you will get a key/key card to lock your room.

    During summer, warm lunch and/or dinner in the school Bistro (Monday to Friday/Sunday) can be booked at additional costs – either pre-booked as weekly lunch package (approx. £28/£39week) or purchased daily (approx. £6/meal).

    This accommodation is available during summer in July – August only.
