JUNIOR COURSES for 13-17 years in South West France

All lessons take place in the local school in the Maison des Associations, situated between beach and residence.

GENERAL FRENCH COURSE
15 lessons (x 45 mins) or 11.25 hours per week
Lessons normally take place from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 11:35. Each of the three morning lessons focuses on a specific area of language learning: grammar and language work, reading and listening, or communicative activities and speaking practice.

INTENSIVE FRENCH COURSE
20 lessons (x 45 mins) or 15 hours per week
The Intensive Course consists of the General French Course plus an additional lesson per day (11:35 -12:20) in which key areas of language learning are practised in more depth.

MINI-GROUP FRENCH
20 lessons (x 45 mins) or 15 hours per week
This is a highly individualised course. The lessons are based on the same concept as the intensive course for groups of up to 4 students. Working in very small groups allows you to focus on your own language needs and problems. Together with the teacher you can decide what you want to work on and which aspects of language you want to improve.

RESIDENCE
Live and socialise with your fellow students from many different countries in our residence!
You will stay in multi-bedded en-suite rooms (3-4 beds) in the Youth Guesthouse in Biarritz, situated just a 35-minutes-walk (20 minutes by bus) from the town centre and the beach at Biarritz. You will reach the local school after a 15-minute-bus-ride. Also supervisors live in the Residence and they are there for if you have any problems or questions.
Free-wifi as well as computers with free internet access are available in the reception area. All rooms have individual wardrobes with lockers, to safe your valuables. You’ll get full board accommodation that includes breakfast, packed lunch and dinner. Breakfast and dinner are taken in the Youth Guesthouse. School offers vegetarian and pork free options without extra costs.

HOMESTAY
You may also stay in twin or triple bedrooms with one of the friendly homestay hosts, most of whom have been welcoming students for many years. The hosts live in Biarritz, Anglet and Bayonne – some are situated close to the school while others are a bus-ride away (on average 30, max. 60 mins, a local bus pass is provided for the duration of your stay). Therefore homestay is a good opportunity for self-dependent students who like to learn something about the everyday life of a French family. You will get full board accommodation with breakfast, packed lunches and dinner. School offers vegetarian, pork, lactose free and vegan options in the homestay accommodation without extra costs.

SUPERVISED ACTIVITY PROGRAMME

Friendly and helpful staff members from England, Germany, France, Spain, Russia or other countries will run a fully supervised activity programme in the afternoons & evenings, 7 days a week. In the afternoon you can choose between several activities and in the evening you can take place in one of our amazing events.

Your safety and welfare is our top priority: there is one supervisor responsible for 15 students between 13 and 17 years. However supervision groups during activities on or off campus will have different ratios of up to 25 students for 13-17 year old depending on the situation.

The members of the Staff team have been carefully selected for their responsible and caring attitude and for being fun-loving and outgoing. They are the people you can turn to at any time for assistance.
