Brooke House College community is lively, diverse and caring; it is a happy place with a strong family atmosphere, where friendship matters and where the courteous informality between staff and pupils is highly valued. The pastoral framework is simple yet strong. Everyone matters, in what is for nearly all the pupils, their home from home.
At the heart of Brooke House, the teaching and learning experience is paramount. By design, the class sizes are small, allowing excellent interaction between teachers and the boys and girls. In addition, there is a strong passion for a wide variety of co-curricular activities, especially within the fields of sport and art. The football academy and motorsport academy are internationally known and respected.
Academically, the school offers a programme to suit all tastes. If you wish to follow the traditional path of GCSEs and A Levels, you can do so. If it is an intensive course of English that you require, the school offers that as well. In addition, the school has pioneered a highly respected University Foundation Programme, which, starting this year also caters for students wishing to study medicine at university.
GCE A Level is one of the world’s most recognised qualifications, leading students to direct university entry. To obtain this qualification, students undertake a 2 year course in 3 to 4 subjects normally starting at the age of 16. Apart from acquiring knowledge in particular subjects, the course also helps the students to develop important skills such as problem solving and project management.
At Brooke House a full range of A Level courses is offered including, but not exclusively: Mathematics, Chemistry, English, Photography, Computing, Geography, Further Mathematics, Biology, Art, Law, Economics, Psychology, Physics, History, Art History, Government and Political Studies, Business Studies, Sociology.
Students may study A Level on either a two year (6-term) course, commencing in September, or on an 18-month (5-term) course, commencing in January, each year.
* Additional course options can be made available by arrangement with the academic departments concerned.
