Do you want to know where not only Nobel Laureates go to study?
Last week I attended MIll HIll School, which is famous for its graduates. Have you noticed that I’m wearing a coat at the end of May? Yes, we had quite cool and rainy, despite the approaching summer. ⠀
So, just listen this this role call:
- It was Francis Crick, who, together with Watson, discovered the structure of the DNA molecule. In his honour, the Science block, where all natural disciplines are taught is named;
- Also actor Harry Melling, known for his role as Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter film series, and Patrick Troughton, who played the Second Doctor in Doctor Who.
- Denis Thatcher – military and public figure, husband of the 71st Prime Minister of Great Britain Margaret Thatcher and so on.
Of course, the school is selective and selects students through entrance exams.⠀⠀
Whenever we go through the process of enrolling with my students in British secondary schools, we, together with our British teachers, help prepare for the interview and assess the chances of admission.
The school offers its students a rich academic plan, which is complemented by numerous cultural, sports and recreational activities.
The philosophy of Mill Hill School is based on the desire to cultivate in each student strong leadership skills. By the way, among the teaching staff, the most famous in the school was James Murray – editor-in-chief of the Oxford English Dictionary.
The campus of Mill Hill School is incredibly beautiful, in such an environment it is pleasant to study, relax and live. On its property there are both ancient buildings with tall white columns, huge windows and luxurious interior decoration, and modern buildings made of glass and stone, impressive high-tech equipment and ultra-fashionable design.
The school is the home of the London Golf Academy, and therefore students have excellent opportunities to succeed in this sport, but other sports sections are also offered. On campus there is a music school, its own theatre, an arts and design centre.
I was glad to visit the school, as many boarding schools were closed to the public, but after the government’s permission on May 17 and the easing of restrictions, this became possible.
Of course, there are a number of restrictions on holding mass events, but it was nice to see the educational process at full capacity of the children’s exams.
