After a professional conference, there is always an opportunity to visit educational institutions and learn more about their programmes and facilities. ⠀
So of course, I took the opportunity and went to visit FIU. “Be Ahead of the World” is the slogan of the State Research University of Miami Florida International University (FIU).). ⠀
The University offers bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees and is one of the leaders in educational and social infrastructure, as well as research and innovation. ⠀
There are research campuses and bases, including the world’s only underwater research laboratory Aquarius Reef Base, which was donated to the university by NASA. ⠀
The university has about 58,000 students!!! FIU is one of the top 100 universities in the United States, ranked 8th for its international programmes in business and finance, 6th for its IT programs, 1st for graduates employed in hospitality.
In addition, FIU has its own theatre, its own school of music, as well as numerous sports halls, swimming pools and pitches for various sports: baseball, football, basketball, athletics, and others.
Of course, the size of the campus is amazing! I was also pleased that I had the opportunity to speak with some of the students and learn about employment prospects, the peculiarities of student life at the university and many other things, as well as the management of the university and faculties (in one of the photos I was with the head of master’s programmes in business).
