Coventry University is an educational institution and one of the top 100 prestigious British universities. The university is distinguished by the practical focus of programmes, and an innovative approach to academic training of students.
The university is known as a leading research centre (it has 11 research centres in total).
Among the academic disciplines, social, political sciences, electronic engineering, applied mathematics, art and design stand out.
In 2007, the university was awarded the annual royal prize for training future leaders of automotive design. As a part of my trip, I visited the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, and the Faculty of Biomedicine and Health.
The Faculty of Engineering boasts a state-of-the-art educational building which cost a total of £ 50 million with high-class professional equipment including wind tunnels, aviation simulators, and a facility which creates car designs for Formula 1.
The campus at Coventry is often renovated and improved. A large amount of money has been invested in the construction of specialised educational facilities, including the Alison Jingell Educational Building, equipped with the latest technology.
Here, students from the Faculty of Medicine and Biological Sciences will be able to acquire valuable practical skills.
To help them there is a fully equipped ambulance, operational training and a clinic of sports medicine.
The Hub student centre also has new public areas. For the period from 2016 to 2019, £ 89 million was invested in the construction of student housing – the Bishopsgate, Godiva Place and The Cycle Works residential buildings were built and are located next to the campus.
P.S. I was told that the building behind me will be demolished next year, and there is already a new project in hand that will replace it -))
