Barcelona hosted the annual ICEF 2022 international exhibition for higher education.
Over the past four years, despite the pandemic, there has been a sharp increase in attendance at ICEF Higher Education conferences. In 2022 this upward trend continued, making Barcelona our largest gathering so far – with over 31.5% of delegates attending for the first time.
As usual, this was a truly international event, with 427 individuals representing 334 industry organisations from 84 countries. Together they held a total of 3,150 in-person and virtual meetings over the course of three days.
There were more than 110 universities from the UK, Canada, USA, France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Finland, Australia, the Czech Republic and other countries. Some universities, for example from China, Canada, and the United States, took part online, so the conference also turned out to be a hybrid.
Such events are a great opportunity to learn more about these universities and their programs for international students, admission requirements and competition for places (the number of students applying and actually admitted), as well as scholarships, etc.
I was in Barcelona a long time ago, a few years before the pandemic, so it was a great opportunity to see the city and communicate with representatives of universities, industry colleagues, learn more about new trends in education and everything that is happening in our field.
The excellent organisation and high level of the conference participants is an inspiration for further work with students.
