German Language Courses – German for successful people

You would like to sit an internationally recognized examination for German as a foreign language? SBE can offer you multiple options to prepare for such an exam formally as well as linguistically.

The best way to prepare for a German certification with SBE is to participate in an Intensive Course Plus. At the end of each course level, you can take the telc exam B1, B2, or C1. Alternatively, you can complete TestDaF or DSH exams for foreign university applicants. Furthermore, if you would like to additionally intensify your language preparation for the exam in the Intensive Course Plus, we offer a test training service for each respective exam.

During the test training, we familiarize you with the format of the test. By using sample papers in the test training course, you will learn how to tackle the examination and what techniques you need to solve the tasks effectively and successfully.

For participants who already have the corresponding German language knowledge, but would still like to intensively prepare for the test linguistically and formally, SBE offers a 4 week exam preparation course for TestDaF and for the German Entry Test at the ‘Studienkolleg Munich’. Each of these courses will take place immediately before each corresponding exam, and encompasses 20 TUs per week. These courses generally take place in the afternoon.

Preparation Courses for DSH and TestDaF

In order to study at a German university you have to proof a sufficient knowledge of German language. The required language proof can be either documented by taking and successfully passing the DSH or the “Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache”, the TestDaF examination. Both the exams are likewise recognized by all German universities as the sufficient proof of language proficiency. The main difference is that the universities itself organize the DSH exams that can be taken only once and are usually given only twice a year. The TestDaF exam, on the other hand, can be repeated as often as necessary and it is offered up to 6 times directly at one of the did deutsch-institut in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich

Preparation Courses for the Studienkolleg

Besides sufficient knowledge of German language foreign students have to present a high school diploma as equivalent to the German Abitur in order to enroll for university studies in Germany. Applicants who received a secondary school diploma within a member state of the European Union can usually register for university studies right away. This is also valid for students who already completed several semesters of university studies in their home countries. If the secondary school diploma will not be recognized, applicants have to pass an assessment test at the Studienkolleg before being admitted to university studies in Germany. This special course is preparing best and most comprehensively for the Studienkolleg entrance examination.
