Whether you are a fine connoisseur or simply a wine lover, come and enter the fascinating world of wine-making and wine-tasting with our week Language and Wine combined course. Learn English and discover great wines from the region! This course is perfect for you, if wine is your passion, hobby, profession or you are just curious about it. The reputation of French wine is outstanding, but do you really know the intricate details between the different French wine regions? During this course, you will taste our special selection of French wines, learn how to discuss wine and depth and understand the different appellations and varieties of grape. Throughout wine tasting, you will learn the specific English oenological vocabulary and discover your personal taste. You also learn to ecognize the strengths and weaknesses of a wine and be advised on how to make your own wine cellar. The introductory wine course will be taught by a well-known sommelier or adviser on winemaking.
This programme will allow you to deepen your knowledge of Oenology, combining theoretical and practical workshops. You will discover the sparkling wines and spirits of France and visit some of the most beautiful Castles of the region.
The programme includes:
- History of Vine and Wine (from ancient times to nowadays)
- Oenology (the vine, grapes, ampelography: soil study and selection of grape varieties, the transformation of grapes into wine: the grape harvest, winemaking in the winery, breeding, care and types of special winemaking, introduction to wine tasting)
- Knowledge of wine regions French: geography, designations, soil types, grape varieties and wine types, different winemaking traditions. (Provence, the Rhone Valley, Languedoc & Roussillon, the Southwest, Bordeaux, Beaujolais,
- Burgundy, Alsace, Champagne, the Loire and the Centre, Jura and Savoie)
- Learning the technique and vocabulary of tasting: if it is a science for some, tasting is above all a pleasure that appeals to the senses of sight, smell and taste
- Matching Food and Wine (traditional marriages and harmonics, study of French gastronomy and its combination with wines)
- The service of different types wines (sedimentation, aeration, glasses and wine jug, temperature)

PACKAGE:
- 20 French lessons per week (15 hours), Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 12.45pm
