Consultants from Study British English visited Lewis School of English, which has been accepting students from all over the world since 1976. The school is conveniently located in the centre of Southampton, opposite a beautiful park.
Southampton is the main commercial centre and university town on the south coast of England. London is a 65-minute train ride, 120 km from the city.
Southampton is famous for the ship RMS Titanic, which sailed from the port of Southampton in 1912. The SBE team visited the Titanic museum, which opened in 2012. It is housed in a 1930s building formerly the courts and police headquarters, to which a new pavilion has been built.
The city centre shops, and bus terminal are just a two-minute walk from the school. It occupies four elegant 18th-century townhouses with many original features. Behind the buildings there is a small garden where you can relax or play table-tennis. Next door to the school is Southampton Solent University, with which the school cooperates on various courses ,and its students are able to use some of the university’s services.
On the university campus are a school, as well as children’s and adult centres, for students young and old.. Most classes are located in the Lewis School, in the heart of the city. There are classes that can be held at the nearby Southampton Institute.
Students are enrolled in a class that matches their level of language proficiency. As soon as the teacher senses that a student has progressed sufficiently from their original level, they will be transferred to a higher-level class. Learning through this scheme allows you to make as much progress as possible in learning English.
The recreation program includes a wide range of sports and excursions, activities, cultural visits, including dance and disco evenings, barbecues, trips, etc.
