If you are an engineering graduate, and you feel you will be able to benefit from this programme and provide the vital input UK exporting engineering companies need, The Engineering Programme is a great next step after completing your university studies.
There is a unique – and rare – opportunity for recently qualified, non-EU engineering graduates to undertake an extended, paid internship programme with a strong training element and English immersion. This 6-12 months internship, provides a real opportunity to add value – to the host company and to your CV.
The UK has one of the world’s leading engineering industries, so you would gain valuable experience – and evidence of a successful work placement – to take to the next step in your career. The UK Visas and Immigration Service manages admissions to the UK for paid work, from outside the EU, very carefully, so this programme provides comprehensive compliance support to you and your host company. The company will value your contribution in both language ability – if a non- native English speaker – your overseas business culture and your interest and education in engineering. You will therefore typically be allocated high-value tasks or projects, such as market or product development.
When all parties are confident there’s a good match, the company issues the Certificate of Sponsorship which, in addition to an appropriate visa provided by you, allows the internship to take place. So, for an International engineering career, this Internship for Engineering Programme placement may be a great first step, following your engineering degree.
